TO GUIDE YOU THROUGH THIS PAGE, LET’S TELL FIRST WHAT THIS RESEARCH PAGE MEANS TO US. THIS IS OUR LITERAL VISUAL TRANSLATION OF OUR WAY OF WORKING. WITH RESEARCHING WE MAKE MOOD BOARDS, COLLECT INFORMATION AND VISUALS AND PUT THEM TOGETHER TO CREATE AN OVERALL MOOD. iNDiViDUALS WANTS TO BE TRANSPARENT TO OUR READERS AND THAT’S WHY WANT TO SHARE OUR RESEARCH PROCESS, JUST TO LET YOU TAKE A DIVE INTO OUR RESEARCH AND GIVE YOU SPACE TO THINK ABOUT HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT IT. WE ARE NOT HERE TO TEACH, ONLY TO INSPIRE.

It is all about the feeling you get looking at old black and white photos. This modern swagger coat exudes that sentiment by focusing on fusing 1920’s tailoring techniques with sporty details found in trimmings and finishings. A relation between elegance and movement, volume and protection. The swing of the back joined by the rounded shapes creates an illusion of movement and volume. This, in fact, provides a protective element to the coat as it looks larger than it actually is. However, as a result of intricate sewing techniques and pattern shapes, the coat communicates the look, feel and most importantly the elegance of the OG coat to a tee, would you not agree?

By all aspects, this coat is a walking contradiction. A contrast of the old and the new, from the cut to the shape and fabric choice. This swagger coat exposes various parts of the original one, such as wool as main material, however balances it out with a more contemporary, reflective fabric.

All is centered around the shape, which, in this case is inspired by an animal cocoon. The sleeves have zippers which, when opened, create even more volume, communicating a feeling of protection and confidence. Just like animals, humans have the need to appear larger than life, to be present. In order to be present, one must protect themselves, right?

How to Re-Wax your bucket hat

Our bucket hat is pre-treated with beeswax, which makes the hat water-repellent, but the wax needs to be maintained after a regular use.

This is very easy, and you can do it at home.

Here are the steps on how to do it:

  1. Clean and prep the bucket hat.

  2. Apply the wax. Take a block of beeswax and rub it over the fabric with long and even strokes, so that a thin, smooth layer remains.

  3. Heat the applied wax. Use an iron or hair dryer on the lowest setting to regulate the heat and to melt the wax in the fabric.

  4. Dry and wipe.

You can do it twice a year or more if needed.

A perfect scenario where the production process runs smoothly.

A reality where multiple production errors occurred.
