iNDiViDUALS Studio

Mission & Vision

iNDiViDUALS STUDIO was established in 2006 and is a reality school AMFI-program that functions as a consultancy studio. Each semester a new generation of creative students joins the programme and takes the responsibility of professionally consulting the fashion brands by learning, questioning and exploring the industry standards. We show them what they can do to break from these. As a consultancy studio, it is vital to stay on top of trends in the industry.

We are generation 32 of iNDiViDUALS. Our generation believes that there is an untapped beauty in the natural ageing process of garments. Therefore, our goal is to spark a refreshed perspective to rethinking the current design principles. We aim to raise awareness among the community and encourage the industry to  rethink the way garments are now seen as disposable products.

Generation 32’s design principle is designing for time instead of against it. This is done by combining innovative and adjustable designs that will increase the longevity of these. By focusing on durability, adjustability, evolvability and the 3D realm, this process is highlighted by the implementation of natural dyes and tie techniques that reveal their depth when aged.

Our vision: “We see the untapped beauty in the natural ageing process of garments. Unlike the fast fashion industry, we do not look at garments as disposable products.

Our mission: “We spark a refreshed perspective by designing for time instead of against it. We accommodate the ageing process of garments by implementing durability, adjustability, evolvability into our designs, further explored in the 3D realm. We encourage the industry to rethink the value of ageing garments and we strive to curb overconsumption habits.”

As a means to participate in contributing to solve the current issues within the fashion industry and to inspire the industry to take action too, iNDiViDUALS Studio has implemented a rental system as part of their consultancy structure.
